Appreciation for July Issue
Thanks for two wonderful stories on learning that is taking place outside of traditional schools. I’ve followed for two decades Wendy Green’s work at COA Youth & Family Centers preparing high school dropouts for the GED exams. She is surely one of the most gifted alternative educators in our city. And Joshua Del Colle’s account of his trip down south – with other eighth-graders from Tamarack Community School – to visit key places in the civil rights struggle reaffirmed my belief in innovative approaches to learning at all ages.

P.S. Your newspaper continues to amaze me, not only for the quality editing and layout, but also for the wide-ranging and quite unique content.
