4th of July March for Ice Cream to Gordon Park
If you've never experienced 4th of July in Riverwest, then
be sure to join us for this long-time tradition. It can't
be beat for old-fashioned fun. Be sure to wear red, white,
and blue!
8:30 AM - Parade assembles at either St. Casimir's (Bremen
St.) or St. Mary's (Fratney St.). Get a FREE FLAG.
9:00 AM - Parade groups start off to the sound of marching
bands and drummers from Milwaukee Public Theatre, and join
up at Locust St., where they march to Gordon Park and wave
their flags at all the passersby.
9:30 AM - FREE ICE CREAM & LAKEFRONT BREWERY ROOT BEER.
Talk to your neighbors (old & new) while oom-pah music
plays. Shake hands with the politicians.
9:30 AM - Workshop and arts & crafts activities by
Milwaukee Public Theatre.
10:30 AM - MPT presents the Ajula Tricksters Traveling
Circus.
11:30 AM - Decoration Contest (bikes, trikes, wagons,
buggies, etc). Theme: "Celebrate America"
1:30 PM - Talent Contest
Stay for a picnic (and a nap afterwards to get ready
for...)
9:15 PM - FIREWORKS!!!!!!!
