Rev It Up in Riverwest!

Locust St. is revved and ready to kickstart Milwaukees
Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary celebration on
Thursday, August 28th. Riders and residents are invited to
get out their leather and lace duds, rumble over to
Locust St, and get oinked at Porker Fest.

Bikers are welcome to participate in the Motorcycle Rally
with judging and awards. House of Harley will have
a special traveling store. Harley-Davidson/MDA pins and
mobiles will be available for purchase to benefit the
Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Music and dancing in the street will be non-stop on four
outdoor stages presented by Tracks Tavern & Grille,
Linnemans Riverwest Inn, Klingers East, and Riverwest
Commons. Bands include local favorites South Bound, Shag,
and The Mosleys. Or folks can make their own music at the
Drum Circle on the corner of Locust & Bremen hosted by
Darrell Smith of Good Vibes.

The Marketplace next to Klingers is the place to shop for
a variety of clothing, jewelry, leather goods, tattoos,
and arts and crafts. Plenty of tasty local fare will also
be available. The Tracks will be dishing up a huge Pig
Roast and fresh corn on the cob. Other taste treates will
include Italian paninis from Nessun Dorma; Hmong
egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, and fried rice; Indian
tacos, philly cheese steaks, Italian beef, sandwich wraps,
grilled chicken, pizza, burgers, brats, and more.

Porker Fest is a FREE street party open to the public from
4:30 to 11:30 PM. Free, Secure Motorcycle Parking
is available either on Humboldt Blvd. between Locust &
Chambers St., or on Locust St. between Fratney &
Holton St.

Area residents are advised to take alternate routes during
Rush Hour as Locust Street will be closed from Noon to 1:30
AM.
