Where Did Gokhman's Money Come From?
I read with interest your article on Boris Gokhman. Other questions that could have been asked: How did an immigrant house painter become a broker of multi-million dollar developments in just a few years? Where did the money come from? How will Mr. Gokhman, the man personally responsible for the “renaissance of downtown Milwaukee,” respond when he is indicted in federal court for defrauding his new “fellow citizens” out of their tax dollars through his home health care scam?
It is interesting that Boris’ biggest boosters in Milwaukee government (as quoted in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel) were convicted felons Pawlinski and Henningsen.
Acquaintances of mine on the Milwaukee Planning Commission have been in awe at Boris’ ability to obtain money for his projects. I’ve been in awe of the lack of investigation about Mr. Gokhman’s finances. Maybe we’ll all know more in 2004.
On another note, I certainly enjoy Riverwest Currents and am proud that my neighborhood can generate such a fine newspaper. Thank you for your hard work.
