Begin at Urban Ecology Center (in Riverside Park), hike up
to Port Washington Road, cross the river and come down the
west bank, crossing back at North Avenue. Approximate
length is 8 miles. Bring water, wear boots, expect mud, and
plan on seeing something youve never noticed before. For
adults & accompanied children ages 12 & up. $5 (Members -

Ah Spring! Ewww garbage and dog p**p! It's time to roll up
our sleeves and put the sparkle back in our neighborhood.
Assemble at the Holton Youth Center on Burleigh & Holton at
9AM. Marquette University students will be assisting again
this year. Bags & gloves will be provided. To volunteer or
help coordinate a clean-up on your block, call Jim Wilson
at the YMCA CDC at 263-1380 x12.
BAKE SALE FOR DEMOCRACY, BREMEN CAFE, NOON-3PM
After the Spring Clean-Up, stop in at Bremen Cafe (Bremen &
Clarke) for some fresh baked goodies. If you are interested
in donating baked goods, please call 414-698-8101. All help
is very appreciated. All proceeds go to MoveOn.org to
support John Kerry's campaign.
EARTH DAY CELEBRATION, URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER, NOON-1PM
Celia performs songs and stories as part of the Earth Day
Celebration. UEC is located in Riverside Park (Oakland &
Bartlet).
COFFEE HOUSE, 631 N. 19 St. (just south of Wisconsin Av.),
8 PM: Earth Poets & Musicians, 17th annual performance.
Longtime Earth Poets Louisa-Loveridge Gallas, Jeff
Poniewaz, Suzanne Rosenblatt, and Harvey Taylor have
performed every year since the first such event in
Milwaukee in April 1988. Also performing: Ann Filemyr and
Sue Silvermarie, who were among the original members of the
