Frank Morris Memorial
Thank you for the wonderful memorial to Frank in the July issue. It was so gratifying to see him portrayed as a real person instead of just “a 40-year-old Milwaukee man” that the main “rag” published. Just the fact that the Currents called to ask me about Frank and who he was, and not just the story of his murder, shows what kind of close-knit and caring community this is, as represented by its newspaper.
We did have a memorial wake for Frank at the Riverwest Tavern on July 4th. Friends and family turned out and raised additional money for his three children, with donated raffle items, food and the general fund drive. It was a great thing to see his Riverwest “family” come together for a final tribute.
My web site provider, Advanced Access, has unexpectedly and generously donated a memorial web site for Frank at www.FrankLeeMorris.com, where people can see photos, post comments, and contact us if they would like to contribute to the memorial fund for his children. I hope people will have a chance to visit.
Many thanks,
Kristin
