to focus on U.S. POLICY & THE AMERICAS

Central United Methodist Church
639 N. 25th St. (& Wisconsin Ave.)

Candidates include State Senators Gwen Moore and Tim
Carpenter, and Atty. Matt Flynn.

The leading candidates to fill the open Fourth
Congressional District seat from the Milwaukee area in the
U.S. House of Representatives will share their views on
U.S. policies toward the Americas.

The forum is free and open to the public. Free
off-street parking is available south of the church.
The event will also be taped and broadcast on MATA up to
the primary on September 14th.

Over a dozen civic and community groups have joined to
bring these candidates to share their views on issues
affecting the Americas. The candidates will be asked to
address questions concerning economic integration and fair trade policies, including NAFTA, and the proposed FTAA and CAFTA agreements; immigration; and respect for the sovereignty of other nations.

Particular issues will include restrictions on U.S. trade
with and travel to Cuba; policies of alleged "regime
change" affecting Haiti, Venezuela, and other nations; the effect of U.S. interventions in Central America; and the role of the U.S. military including the School of the Americas and the ongoing war in Colombia.

about RIC and its members in a casual setting.
