What the Shepherd Express Says About Hotcakes:
Natahan Guequierre of the Shepherd Express, Milwaukee's
most widely read alternative news source, had the following
to say about Hotcakes Gallery:

"Hot Stuff! - The most promising art news of late...is the
opening this week of Hotcakes Gallery, a new venue in
Riverwest founded on the premise of making art affordable
without compromising intellectual integrity. Artists and
owners Mike Brenner and Susan Kriofsky will show local and
national work, hip stuff but not merely hip for its own
sake. It's energetic and ambitious. The gallery will be
inaugurated on Friday, Feb. 6 with a 5 p.m. reception for
Chicago painter Jeremiah Ketner, whose work features little
kids and critters floating across abstracted landscapes.
Ketner's work is clean and flat, with muted colors and
simplified forms that owe as much to the illustrations of
Pokeman cards as they do Paul Klee. Pretty Cool."
