Luv II Sew

Debbie Moffett’s face lights up
when she talks about sewing.
“I LOVE to sew!” she bubbles.
Not only does she love it, she’s a whiz
at it. And she’ll take on just about any
challenge you can give her. Great service
and work at a reasonable price.
Only eight years old when she
discovered her special talent through
necessity (there weren’t many stylish
clothes available for larger kids in those
days) she learned through experience.
Many years later she spent two years in
the tailoring program at MATC where
she picked up new skills and refined
others.
Luv II Sew opened in December 2005.
Most of Debbie’s business has come
through word of mouth – happy
customers recommending her to their
friends – and now her sandwich board
is drawing people in off busy Locust
Street. “I got a prime spot,” she says.
Debbie’s sewing mastery is evidenced
by the boundless variety of projects
she’s willing to do. Besides the usual
hemming ($5 for pants, $8 for a skirt),
replacing zippers ($8), and alterations,
she custom creates curtains, cushions,
clothing and whatever else you can
imagine. Recent projects have included
detailed leather vests and accessories for
bikers, a maternity bridesmaid dress, an
exact copy of a woman’s favorite blazer,
and patching a client’s special blue jeans
that were barely holding together. She
can make a dress based on a picture you
give her, or sew you multiples of some
piece of clothing that you especially
love. The possibilities are endless.
Stop in at Luv II Sew with your project.
Debbie will be pleased to see you and
you may meet one of her 15 grandkids.
Every day finds one of them there
keeping her company. (If it’s Rena, say
hi for me!)
