The sign on the door says it all: Adults Only.
Specializing in lingerie and exotic clothing, it wouldn’t
be the strangest thing in the world to run into a dancer
from Arts Performing Center while you’re perusing
the racks of garments. Top Star is where you can find
sexy club and dance wear, glass bottom and stiletto
heels, swimsuits, sleepwear, costumes, jewelry and
accessories. Feedback from the Riverwest community
has been positive. So leave your inhibitions at the
door and treat that little devil in you to a pair of glass
bottom heels – for yourself or that special someone.

Eye Art is a combination optical store and art gallery.
Proprietor Luke Lopez offers his walls to local artists and
even features some of his own pieces. If it’s frames you’re
after, he features top brands like Calvin Klein, Gabbana
and Versace. He also offers the services of a doctor who
comes in two days per week to provide eye exams
(Mondays and Saturdays, appointment only). You can

While living in the UWM dorms, Ryan Glass cleaned the
fish tanks of basketball players in exchange for meal
cards. Today Ryan has 10 years experience providing
professional maintenance and runs Glass Aquatics,
which may be the only place you can get live coral reef
in Riverwest. Glass Aquatics specializes in saltwater
fish. Ryan can special-order any fish, which arrive
twice a week. Looking for an eel with zebra stripes or
clown triggerfish? Look no further. Custom tanks and
instillation are available. In case you’re wondering, the
Zenith console tank in the windowisn’t for sale. Glass
Aquatics also sells pet food and accessories. Coming
soon: live crickets. – Ben Elmadari

No busy signal here. Smash Wireless is a new addition
to Riverwest, opening this past December. Specializing
in prepaid cellular phones such as Verizon, Sprint,
Cingular and Locus, they offer packages starting as low
as just 4 cents per minute. Come spring, they would
like to create a lounge area complete with a Playstation
2 with hopes of starting league play. In addition,
they’re thinking of setting up some computers and
offering free Wi-Fi. They came to Riverwest because
it’s convenient and safe for their customers. But they’re
also hoping to fill a need and provide service for our
community. – Jim Lowe
